Heath Class (Year 5 and 6)

 

 

Heath class is a mixed class of year 5 and 6 pupils. We are a class of 15 children and Mrs Homer, Miss French and Miss Emmerson are our class teachers.

 

This term we are learning about Africa in our topic lessons, Sounds in our Science lessons and Blogs in our ICT lessons as well as some important e-safety tips! This is alongside our Maths, English, Swimming, French, PE, PSHE and Music lessons. We work hard in each and every lesson because we want to get the most from our learning.

 

Our topic this term has a Geography focus and so far we are really enjoying learning about Africa. We have developed some mapping skills are are able to name and locate a number of the many countries in Africa, as well as mark main lakes and rivers. We have been making booklets about animals that inhabit in Africa as well as considering the landscape and weather conditions. This led us on nicely to some recent learning about how precious our water is! We have learnt about water scarcity - physical and economical and why this is the case and what we can do about it.
