Reporting and Assessing


  • All aspects of school life work on the ‘Positive Approach’ to learning. Monitoring and testing are used to profile an individual’s strengths and weakness regularly.

  • We use reading age, spelling age and writing level tests termly as well as NFER Progress in Maths and Progress in English twice a year.  For our latest results please click here.

  • Class sizes are well below average and children are treated as individuals with their own needs being met as required.

  • Various awards recognise a child’s achievements in all areas of social, creative and academic learning.  

  • Formal reports are sent home termly, but parents meetings, both planned and ad-hoc provide a continuous dialogue between home and school. In the Autumn term there is also the opportunity to see the school at work during one of our ‘Working Open Days.’
